Oneness with Deity Part 3 - The Tree of Life

Updated: Jul 13, 2023

In the Bible, the Tree of Life represents eternal life and a connection to God. In Genesis 3:24, it is written that after the man and woman ate the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, they were banished from the Garden of Eden, and God stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword to guard the way to the Tree of Life. This Tree symbolizes the oneness with Deity that humans once had and could regain through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

John 3:16 states that God loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. The Greek word used for "only begotten" is "monogenes," which means "one-and-only" or "one of a kind." This shows that Jesus is unique and that His sacrifice on the cross was the only way for humanity to regain oneness with God.

Colossians 1:15 describes Jesus as the image of the invisible God and the firstborn of all creation. Ephesians 4:4 states that there is one body and one Spirit, and Galatians 2:20 says that it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. All these verses emphasize the importance of Jesus in bringing humans closer to God and to the Tree of Life.

The Hebrew word for "life" is "chay," and the root word for "live" is "chayah." "Chet" represents infinite possibilities, "yod" represents the Creator, and "heh" represents divine revelation. Therefore, "live" means to enter the inner chamber of infinite possibilities, where the finished work of creation is revealed and demonstrated through the Spirit of Christ within us.

The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil represents the dualistic mindset of the flesh, which opposes God. When humans eat from this tree, they produce the fruit of death. Romans 8:6 says that the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. Jesus does not eat from this tree, and He did not come into the world to judge it but to save it (John 3:17).

In Matthew 7:1-2, Jesus says not to judge so that you will not be judged, and in Colossians 3:2, it is written to set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth. When we judge, we experience sickness, lack, anger, and depression. Instead, we should focus on love and choose life. We should pray for healing and not against sickness, and we should love our enemies as ourselves.

In 2 Corinthians 5:16, it is written that from now on, we recognize no one by the flesh but by the Spirit. Romans 8:2 states that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death. When we look beyond the physical and see with the eyes of the Spirit, we can experience oneness with Deity and the Tree of Life.

In conclusion, the Tree of Life represents oneness with Deity and eternal life. Jesus Christ is the only way for humanity to regain this oneness, and we should focus on the things that are above and not judge others or ourselves. When we look beyond the physical and see with the eyes of the Spirit, we can experience the creative ability of God and demonstrate His infinite possibilities on earth.
